I lived in Benilde freshman year--I remember that we thought second-floor rinkside was haunted for a week or so in October, around Halloween...
Then we realized it was just the heater in the bathroom making noises.
I've never thought of the apple orchard as creepy--always thought it was kinda pretty, especially when it's dark or moonlit. The bridge to Yon's has only bothered me once or twice when I've been walking it at night and there are NO people around...but Yon's is home to me, so it's not that creepy. Heffron--yes, that's creepy, especially at night doing rounds up there. I still think the basement of the library can be creepy, too.
I want to know when the story started that Yon's itself is haunted, because I didn't hear ANYTHING about it until last year's freshman class started here--which was the first year they closed the residence part of that building. I'm thinking someone decided to start up a story.
It used to be a cloister, that's why. All the brothers who lived there couldn't pass the bridge, they were completly isolated. That's why there's another athletic feild up there and why it's so...creepy
And Benilde is haunted, more specifically, 214 and 114. There is a definte vortex of evil going on. Weird noises, smothering in sleep, overheard phone conversations that no-one else can hear...ahimsa knows what am speaking of.
Oh, I know it used to be a cloister. It just amuses me that there are ghost stories about the door at the end of the hall down in the old student residence near rooms 20-25. I mean, I lived in room 22 for a summer, a friend of mine lived in that room for 2 years, and we had never heard ghost stories until after students no longer lived there. Slightly curious, isn't it? I don't think it's creepy at all. I love Yons.
